Every year in the month of November an event occurs which my family affectionately calls "Pizza in da woods!” The technical term for this event is a family reunion, but our family picnic turning into ordering pizza and hanging out among the trees, gave it this new title. I wanted to take it even further and make up a rap. Needless to say I failed miserably.
Pizza in da woods is held every year at the Stone Mountain state park in Atlanta GA. My parents, who are basically amazing, decided that they would fly my fiancé Sarah in this year to experience all that the stone and the pizza have to offer. After picking Sarah up from the airport, we all met at the park on Friday night and proceeded to go to dinner at Sarah's favorite Steakhouse chain "Longhorn". The firecracker chicken wraps are incredible, just so you know.
Now, every year to add to the phenomenon that is PIDW, my Mom gives us about four to five instances where she makes a statement that is ridiculously hilarious. My mom is a kindergarten teacher and has probably the biggest heart I've ever known. These stories are too rich to even attempt to try to convey on this blog, so you'll have to ask me to share the stories sometime in person. Priceless.
On Saturday we climbed Stone Mountain, ate lunch at Cafe Intermezzo(or as my mom called it "Internet Espresso")had Brunswick Stew in da woods and watched some Carolina football.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. Oh to be a Troutman is a beautiful thing.
(Mom and Liz check out the engagement ring in the shadow of our Confederate friends and Sarah and I do our best bad promo shot)

We should be models for a sporting goods store. I mean that last pic was right near the end of the climb and we're still hot as can be!
